PARMESAN MACARONI WITH CRISPY BACON

Mac and cheese made a bit more interesting in this flavorful dish packed with wonderful saltiness, creaminess, and umami.

Ingredients:

300 g Cubed bacon
600 ml Whipping cream
800 ml Macaroni
100 g Parmesan
2 Garlic cloves
2 Lemon zest
Olive oil for frying
Salt & pepper
Topping:
4 tbsp Finely chopped chives

Instructions:

COOKING OUTSIDE
01 Fry the bacon until it turns crispy. Place the bacon on a piece of kitchen paper to absorb excess fat.
02 Bring the whipping cream to a boil and reduce by about half.
03 Boil the macaroni according to the instructions on the package. Drain off the water.
04 Stir the grated Parmesan, finely grated garlic and finely grated lemon zest into the whipping cream.
05 Add the macaroni and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
06 Sprinkle with bacon and chopped chives.
