WE MAKE OUTDOOR COOKING THE BEST PART OF YOUR DAY
Primus was founded in 1892 in Stockholm by F.W. Lindqvist and J.V. Svenson, who created the world’s first soot-free kerosene stove and named it Primus — Latin for “the first.” Its reliability quickly made Primus stoves sought after for expeditions, accompanying some of history’s most iconic adventures — from Roald Amundsen at the South Pole in 1911 to Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary on Mount Everest in 1953.
Today, we develop portable outdoor stoves, vacuum bottles, flasks, and cooking accessories for life outside. All our stoves are designed in Sweden, and most are assembled in our own factory in Tartu, Estonia. With our products, impossible meals become possible — whether your adventures are just around the corner or far from home.
