Primus X Scouts and Guides of Sweden

The Preparedness Menu

Get started with everyday preparedness

Together with Scouts and Guides of Sweden, Primus wants to inspire more people to build everyday preparedness by getting familiar with their camping stove. The same stove you use on a hike, camping trip or Scout camp can also make a real difference when everyday life doesn't go as planned.

Here you'll find ready-made preparedness kits, practical guides and The Preparedness Menu, created together with Scouts from Sköndals Land and Sea Scout Group, to help you get started. Because the best time to learn how to use your stove isn't when the power goes out – it's on your next hike, camping trip or outdoor meal.

The Preparedness Menu

Our family-friendly Preparedness Menu is based on long-lasting ingredients, makes use of fresh produce early in the week and reuses ingredients across multiple meals. The menu was created by Sköndals Land and Sea Scout Group on behalf of Primus.

Please note: the menu is currently available in Swedish only.

Prepared for cooking without electricity

Our preparedness kits

Choose a ready-made preparedness kit with a camping stove and fuel for outdoor cooking without electricity. Designed for outdoor adventures, our stoves are perfect for hiking, camping and days out in nature. They're easy to use, and if you're new to camping stoves, our guides will help you get started. Get familiar with your stove before you need it, so you know how it works when it really matters.

For small households

A beginner-friendly preparedness kit for 1–3 people, including the Mimer Backpacking Stove Kit, two pots and 5 × 450 g Power Gas canisters – enough fuel for around one week of cooking. The robust camping stove features a wide flame and four pot supports for stable cooking, while the compact kit is easy to take with you or store at home.

FOR THE FAMILY

A family-friendly preparedness kit for up to 5 people, including the Essential Stove System, two pots and 8 × 450 g Power Gas canisters – enough fuel for around one week of cooking. The hose-mounted stove has a low, stable design and a wind-protected burner, making it easy to cook outdoors.

FOR GROUPS

A spacious preparedness kit for up to 10 people, including the Tupike camping stove and 12 × 450 g Power Gas canisters – enough fuel for around one week of cooking. Dual burners, foldable legs and integrated windsreens make it easy to prepare meals for larger groups.

Practise outdoors. Be ready at home.

Our camping stoves are built to be used. Even if you buy one to be prepared for a power outage or another unexpected situation, you've also invested in an outdoor stove for hiking, camping and cooking in the open air. The more you use your stove, the more confident you'll be when you really need it. Built to last, every Primus stove can also be serviced and repaired with spare parts over time.

Prepared with Primus & Scouts and Guides of Sweden

Cooking with limited resources, in unexpected places and without access to electricity can be challenging. For us, it's a natural part of outdoor life. Primus has been making camping stoves since 1892, while Scouts and Guides of Sweden has helped young people develop compassion, confidence, teamwork and problem-solving skills for more than a century.

That's why we asked Sköndals Land and Sea Scout Group to create a family-friendly 7-day menu for our camping stoves. Over two Scout meetings, they created, tested and refined the recipes together.

Download the menu, adapt it to suit your family, stock up on the ingredients and try the recipes on your camping stove. You'll get to know how your stove works and feel more confident cooking without electricity – whether you're facing the unexpected or heading out on your next adventure.
